Summary: This is a great children’s book about a sweet old man who lives his life on a daily schedule. He works at a nearby zoo and has a routine in which he follows everyday. He is sweet and kind to the animals and shows great compassion toward them. One day Amos the old man becomes sick. The book tells the story of how the animals return all the favors he did for them by being with him and helping him get better. This would be a great book for younger elementary children to learning about friendship.
